Boston Baked Beans
Place beans in large kettle. Cover
with water, sprinkle with 1 tablespoon baking soda. Bring to boil.
Soak them beans overnight. Mix all them ingredients together and some water. Use baking soda to counter-act the bean-hardening effects of the acid ingredients. Bake it all up. Enjoy.
Beans are good for you
- 1 lb. dry Great Northern beans or other
dry beans, soaked overnight and drained
- 1 lg. onion, diced
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. molasses
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
- 1/2 cup ketchup or BBQ sauce
- 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/4 lb. bacon , cut up
- Baking Soda
